How a project runs

Every job starts with a site measure and a conversation about what you want and what it's likely to cost. From there, two ways to run it — depending on the size of the job.

Track one

3 stages

Smaller jobs

A kitchen, a bathroom, a deck, a single-room extension.

Usually no DA — just the certifier.

01Sketch designSite measure, your brief, first ideas on paper.
02Concept designDrawn up properly with plans, elevations and 3D views.
03Working drawingsWhat the builder and certifier need to price and build.

Track two

5 stages

Larger jobs

Whole-house renovations, raises and extensions, commercial fit-outs.

Full design and documentation, through to approvals.

01Sketch designSite measure, brief, first ideas and a planning check.
02Concept designPlans, elevations and 3D views to pin the design down.
03Design developmentMaterials, structure and engineering coordinated.
04Construction documentationThe full set — every detail the builder needs.
05ApprovalsDA and building approval, with certifier and town planner where needed.

Fixed fees

Quoted per stage, so you know the cost before each step starts.

One designer

The person who sketches your idea is the person who draws it for the builder. Nothing gets handed down the line.

The other consultants

I'm not a certifier, engineer or town planner — but I've got good ones that I can put you in touch with, and I coordinate them for you.
